Bryony is a doctor who has been teaching yoga regularly since 2016 and is currently training to be a yoga therapist with the Minded Institute. She uses her teaching as a bridge between medicine and yoga. Bryony brings a deep understanding of how the body works as well as sensitivity for individual needs and an ability to adapt teaching to those with illness, disability and injury. She is passionate about making yoga accessible for everyone and sharing the therapeutic benefits of the practice.
She began her journey as a teacher with a strong physical practice that drew on Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions (training with Elizabeth Connolly and Edward Clark). Her subsequent training combined applied fascial anatomy (Jo Avison) and meditation (Alexander Filmer-Lorch). Her teaching style blends dynamic flow, longer holds and mindful inquiry. Through managing her own Type 1 diabetes and since becoming a mum of two young kids, she has learnt to evolve her practice to meet the changing demands of her life. In her classes, Bryony holds a safe and supported space for your practice while using her knowledge to guide you in developing strength, balance and calm.
When she is not on her mat, you will find Bryony outside, with her kids or on her bike. She loves meeting new people and being part of the local community.
