Physio | Pilates Instructor
Sarah hails from Melbourne, Australia, where she graduated with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy at Griffith University. In addition, Sarah also completed an undergraduate Bachelor in Exercise Science, both of which prompted a keen interest in the management of sports-specific injuries & exercise-based rehabilitation.
Since graduating, Sarah has worked in a private practice setting and gained extensive experience in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, as well as spinal conditions, pre/post-natal management, strength/conditioning & post-operative orthopaedics. This experience allowed exposure to a diverse clientele, which has included paediatrics, geriatrics, elite athletes, chronic pain presentations and Women’s Health patients.
Sarah specialises in Clinical Pilates, which she has practiced for over 5 years. With experience in both mat & equipment-based modalities, Sarah loves to incorporate this type of strengthening into patient rehabilitation & functional restoration. Beyond just injury management, she also utilises Pilates as a means of maintaining overall health & wellbeing, to create a patient-centred approach that is unique to every presentation.
With a keen interest in Women’s Health, Sarah also extends her scope to the following areas:
Pre/post-natal Pilates, strengthening & massage
Pregnancy-related pain & dysfunction
Internal pelvic floor examinations
Urinary incontinence treatment
In addition, she has also gained post-graduate qualifications in musculoskeletal dry needling & advanced taping techniques.
When she’s not hunting the UK for Vegemite, Sarah loves to play sport & has always been closely affiliated (both personally & professionally) with netball, football (the Australian kind) and touch rugby. She loves to be outdoors, walking/travelling/hiking/cycling, but also loves any opportunity to spend some time on the Pilates reformer.
