Learn how to support yourself throughout your cycle
The menstrual cycle and menstruation itself are easily affected. Diet, lifestyle and stress will all have an impact on the ease and regularity of the period. There is a growing understanding of the delicacy of the menstrual cycle and especially of its dependency on nutrition and harmony within the body.
This workshop is designed to empower you and share tools that you can adopt in your everyday life.
We'll be looking at how can Nutrition and Acupuncture enhance women’s health.
Alessandra, our Womens Health Specialist Nutritional Therapist, will share with you:
- the physiology of your menstrual cycle
- What is natural medicine and how it can support your health
- Common threats to look out for and what you can do about it
Melanie, our Fertility Specialist Acupuncturist, will share with you:
- How does acupuncture work?
- How acupuncture can assist in addressing the most common imbalances that arise
We will end with a short and gentle yoga practice that you can use during the menstrual cycle.

Melanie has long been a follower and advocate of holistic therapies. Having used acupuncture to assist with fertility, she began studying Traditional Chinese Medicine after the birth of her second child and obtained a Certificate in Chinese Medicine through the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and a BSc in Acupuncture with the University of East London. During that time, she also completed a Diploma in Tui Na Massage and studied in Nanjing China, completing a Clinical Practice Course in Acupuncture. She has also studied with the world-renowned Virginia Doran, obtaining a qualification in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and Facial Massage.
Melanie's main focus is sub-fertility issues relating to both male and female fertility. Having used acupuncture herself for fertility, she is very familiar with the high levels of emotion and anxiety that go along with it. She can offer supportive acupuncture to patients who are undergoing IVF and other assisted conception programmes.
Alessandra is a registered Nutritional Therapist and Yoga Teacher in Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga with a deep interest in the connection mind-body, in constant research on how to implement more techniques and practices to improve the health of her clients.
Her mission is to support and empower women in their life journey, Starting from menarche through the fertile years, pregnancy and menopause.
