"Yoga allows you to discover a sense of wholeness in your life, where you do not feel like you are constantly trying to fit broken pieces together" ~B.K.S. Iyengar.
The Indian sage Patanjali is believed to have collated the practice of yoga into the Yoga Sutras around 2,000 years ago. The word yoga, comes from the Sanskrit word yuj meaning to yoke or bind and is often interpreted as 'union'.
Today most people practicing yoga are engaged in the physical element, traditionally aimed at building the strength, flexibility and stamina required to be seated on the floor for long periods of meditation. A physical yoga practice involves moving through a sequence of postures with the breath, including forward bends, back bends, balances and inversions.
