John grew up on the island of Anglesey surrounded by Welsh seas and the mountains of Snowdonia. After running his own successful electronics business, in 2007 he trained in sports massage and has been treating people and extending his knowledge ever since.
Soft tissue therapy and sports massage focuses on your muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (which is the connective tissue which surrounds and connects all the different parts of the body together).
John uses a combination of techniques; sports and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, soft tissue release, neuromuscular re-education, stretching and instrument assisted massage to help the soft tissue move more freely in the body. These techniques can help to alleviate discomfort from everyday work and life stress as well as muscular strain and chronic pain conditions, allowing you to breathe more easily and regain balance in your body. Treatments with John are not a quick patch up but an opportunity to get to the root of what’s causing the problem and finding a long lasting solution.
John works with a range of sports people from recreational runners to premiership footballers. John helps people with work related aches and pains, anyone from desk bound office workers to cameramen.
As well being based at Fix, John works with West Ham Football Club and was a soft tissue therapist for Team England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. John lived and worked in the athletes village treating elite sports people in 17 different disciplines giving him a huge amount of knowledge into areas of tension in a variety of different sports.
John was a top Welsh junior tennis player. He also is an accomplished snowboarder and his life long love affair with surfing has taken him to Indonesia, Morocco, California, Sri Lanka and Nicaragua.
A part of his ongoing learning John is undertaking a 2 year biodynamic Craniosacral therapy course. He is a Member of the Sports Massage Association and a registered member of Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
